Computers: Understanding Tech 5e 13.5

TermDefinition
quantum computer The most advanced type of computer, beyond a supercomputer. It operates based on many superpositions of states.
qubit Short for quantum bit. Evaluated by a quantum computer, and can represent on/off as well as a number of other probable superpositions of those states.
neurosynaptic computing Cognitive computing that aims to mimic the functioning of the human brain via greater interconnectivity among memory, processors, and communications.
nanotube A nanoscale tube made of carbon molecules that may be used to create processors in the future.
graphene A material that is essentially a sheet of graphite that is one atom thick, is harder than a diamond, and can conduct electricity 1,000 times better than copper, which is commonly used in computer wiring.
