TermDefinition
Personal Business Letter letter sent from a person to a business
Return Address address of the person writing the letter
Letter/Inside Address address of the person receiving the letter
Salutation greeting of the letter; Dear Sir
Body message of the letter
Complimentary Close the ending of the letter; Sincerely yours
Typist Initials used when someone other than the author types the letter; all lowercase
Enclosure Notation used when additional items are included in the envelope with the letter
Attachment Notation used when additional items are paper clipped or stapled to the letter
Copy Notation used when a copy of the letter is being sent to someone else
Open Punctuation there is not a comma or colon after the salutation nor the complimentary close
Mixed Punctuation there is a colon or comma after the salutation and the complimentary close
2 inches top margin measurement
Quadruple Space spacing between the return address and letter/inside address and between the complimentary close and writer's keyed name
Single Space spacing within the paragraphs of the body
