QuestionAnswer
Landscape Orientation A page layout in which documents are printed across the length of the a page, making the page wider than it is tall.
Portrait Orientation A page layout in which documents are printed across the width of a page, making the page taller than it is wide.
Column A vertical line of text.
Ascending Sort order arranging text or numbers from A to Z, from smallest to largest, or from earliest to latest.
Footer Text appearing at the bottom of each page, separate from the main body of a text.
Sort To arrange a list alphabetically (text) or numerically (numbers), in ascending or descending order.
Table A set of data arranged in a grid of rows and columns.
Header Text apearing at the top of each page, separate from the main body of text.
Row A horizontal line of text.
Cell The space formed by the intersection of a row and a column.
Section Break A break in a document that allows you to create a different layout from the rest of the document (different orientation, margins, headers, footers, page numbers, etc.)
Page Break Indicates the place in a document where one page will end and the next will begin.
Split Cells Separates one cell into two or more cells.
Merge Cells Combines two or more cells into one.
Descending Sort order arranging text or numbers from Z to A, largest to smallest, or latest to earliest.
Automatic Page Break A page break that is automatically inserted by Word. This is also called a SOFT Page Break.
Manual Page Break A page break that is inserted by the user. This is also called a HARD Page Break.
