LI-3 Toothache, Sore throat, Redness & Swelling of fingers & dorsum of hand, Opthalmalgia Shu-Stream of Hand-Yangming Perpendicular 0.5 - 0.8 inch. When loose fist is made, point is on radial side of index finger, in depression proximal to head of 2nd metacarpal bone.
LI-5 Toothache, Sore Throat, Redness, Swelling & Pain of Eye, Headache, Pain of wrist Jing-River of Hand Yangming Perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 inch. On radial side of wrist. When thumb is tilted upward, it is in depression between tendons of m. extensor pollicis longus & brevis.
LI-11 Vomiting, Motor impairment of upper extremities, Scrofula, Urticaria, Febrile Disease, Redness & Pain of Eye, Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea, Sore throat, Toothache He-Sea Point of Hand Yangming Perpendicular 1.0 - 1.5 inches. When elbow is flexed, point is in depression at lateral end of transverse cubital crease, midway between Lu-5 & lateral epicondyle of humerus.

Ht-8 Palpitations, Feverish sensation in the palm, Pruritus of the external genitalia*, Enuresis*, Dysuria*, Pain in Chest, Spasmodic pain of little finger Ying-Spring of Hand Shaoyin Perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 inch When palm faces upward, point is between 4th & 5th metacarpal bones. When a fist is made, point is where tip of little finger rests.
Ht-9 Pain in chest & hypochondriac regions, Cardiac pain, Palpitations, Mania*, Febrile diseases*, Loss of Consciousness* Jing-Well of Hand Shaoyin Subcutaneous 0.1 inch, or prick with three-edged needle to cause bleeding. On radial side of little finger, about 0.1 cun from corner of nail.

SI-2 Numbness of fingers, Febrile Disease, Tinnitus, Headache, Reddish urine Ying-Spring of Hand Taiyang Perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 inch. When a loose fist is made, point is on ulnar end of crease in front of metacarpophalangeal joint of little finger, at junction between red & white skin.
SI-3 Deafness, Sore throat, Pain in shoulder & elbow, Pain & Rigidity of Neck, Malaria, Tinnitus, Night Sweating, Febrile Disease, Mania, Acute Lumbar Sprain, Contracture & numbness of fingers Shu-Stream of Hand Taiyang, Confluent point (for Du/neck, nape, ear, shoulder,inner canthus) Perpendicular 0.5 - 0.7 inch. When a loose fist is made, point is on ulnar end of distal palmar crease, proximal to 5th metacarpophalangeal joint, at end of transverse crease & junction of red/white skin.
SI-5 Pain of hand & wrist*, Febrile diseases, Swelling of neck & submandibular regions Jing River of Hand Taiyang Perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 inch. At ulnar end of transverse crease on dorsal aspect of wrist, in depression between styloid process of ulna & triquetral bone.
SI-8 Swelling of cheek, Headache, Pain in nape, shoulder, arm & elbow, Epilepsy, He-Sea point of Hand Taiyang Perpendicular 0.3 - 0.5 inch. When elbow is flexed, point is located in depression between the olecrannon of ulna & medial epicondyle of humerus.
Lu-5 Mastitis, Infantile Convulsions, Afternoon Fever, Cough, Asthma, Hemoptysis, Sore throat, Fullness in Chest, Spasmodic pain of elbow and arm He-Sea point of Hand Taiyin Perpendicular 0.5 - 1 inch. On the cubital crease, in depression of radial side of tendon of m. biceps brachii. Point is located w/ elbow slightly flexed.
Lu-8 Cough, Asthma, Sore throat, pain in chest, Fever, pain in wrist Jing-River Point of the Hand Taiyin Perpendicular 0.1 - 0.3 inch. Avoid puncturing the radial artery. 1 cun above the transverse crease of wrist in depression on lateral side of radial artery.
Lu-1 Cough, Asthma, Pain & Fullness in Chest, Pain in the Shoulder, Pain in the Back Front Mu of Lung Obliquely .5 - .8 in towards lateral aspect of chest. NEVER puncture deeply toward medial aspect. Laterosuperior to the sternum, 1 cun below Lu-2, at the level of the first intercostal space, 6 cun anterior to the midline
Lu-6 Cough, Pain in the chest, Asthma, Hemoptysis, Sore throat, Spasmodic pain of the elbow & the arm. Xi-Cleft of Hand Taiyin Perpendicular 0.5 - 1 in. On the palmar aspect of the forearm, on the line joining Lu-9 & Lu-5, 7 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.
Lu-7 Headache, Migraine, Neck Rigidity, Cough, Asthma, Sore throat, Facial Paralysis, Toothache, Pain & Weakness of the Wrist Luo Connecting Point of Hand Taiyin Obliquely upward .3 - .5 inch Superior to styloid process of radius, 1.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist between the brachioradial muscle & the tendon of the long abductor muscle of the thumb.
LI-4 Headache, Red/swelling/pain of eye, Deafness, Facial swelling or paralysis, Parotitis, Trismus, Fever w/ anhidrosis, Hidrosis, Constipation, Amenorrhea, Delayed labor, Infantile convulsion, Pain/weakness/motor impairment of upper limbs + Channel Signs/Sx Yuan Primary of Hand Yangming/ Command for Face & Mouth/ 4 Gates Perpenicular .5 - 1 inch. Moxa & acupuncture contraindicated in pregnant women. On the dorsum of hand, between the 1st & 2nd metacarpal bones, approx. in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal bone on the raidal side.
LI-6 Redness of the eye, Tinnitus, Deafness, Epistaxis, Aching of the hand & arm, Sore throat, Edema Luo Connecting of Hand Yangming Perpendicular or obliquely .5 - .8 in. With the elbow slightly flexed & the radial side of arm upward, the point is on the line joining LI-5 & LI-11, 3 cun above the crease of the wrist.
LI-7 Headache, Swelling of the face, Sore throat, Borborygmous, Abdominal pain, Aching of the shoulder & arm Xi Cleft of Hand Yangming Perpendicular .5 - 1 in. With the elbow flexed & the radial side of arm upward, the point is on the line connecting LI-5 & LI-11, 5 cun above the crease of the wrist.
St-25 Abdominal pain & distension, Borborygus, Pain around the umbilicus, Constipation, Diarrhea, Dysentery, Irregular menstruation, Edema Front Mu of the Large Intestine Perpendicular .7 - 1.2 inches. 2 cun lateral to the center of the umbilicus
St-34 Pain & numbness of the knee, Gastric pain, Mastitis, Motor Impairment of the lower extremities Xi Cleft of Foot Yangming Perpendicular .5 - 1 inch When the knee is flexed, the point is 2 cun above the laterosuperior border of the patella.
St-37 Abdominal pain & distension, Borborygmus, Diarrhea, Dysentery, Constipation, Enteritis, Paralysis due to stroke, Beriberi Lower He Sea of the Large Intestine Perpendicular .5 - 1.2 inches 6 cun below St 35 and one finger breadth (middle finger) from the anterior border of the tibia.
St-39 Lower abdominal pain, Backache referring to the testis, Mastitis, Numbness & paralysis of the lower extremities Lower He Sea of the Small Intestine Perpendicular .5 - 1 inch 9 cun below St-35 & one finger breadth (middle finger) from the anterior border of the tibia.
St-40 Headache, Dizziness & vertigo, Cough, Asthma, Excessive sputum, Pain in the chest, Constipation, Mania, Epilepsy, Muscular atrophy, Motor impairment, Pain, swelling or paralysis of the lower extremities Luo Connecting Point of Foot Yangming Perpendicular .5 - 1 inch 8 cun superior to the tip of the external malleolus, lateral to St 38, about two finger-breadth lateral to the anterior border of the tibia.
St-42 Pain of the upper teeth, Redness & swelling of the dorsum of the foot, Facial paralysis, Muscular atrophy & motor impairment of the foot. Yuan-Primary of Foot Yangming Avoid puncturing the artery. Puncture .3 - .5 in. On the dome of the instep of the foot, between the tendons of long extensor muscle of the great toe & long extensor muscle of toes, where the pulsation of the dorsal artery of foot is palpable.
Sp-4 Gastric pain, Vomiting, Abdominal pain & distension*, Diarrhea, Dysentery, Borborygmus Luo-Connecting Point of Foot Taiyin Perpendicular .5 - .8 inch. In the depression distal & inferior to the base of the 1st metatarsal bone, at the junction of the red & white skin.
Sp-6 (Channel signs/symptoms not listed - no room) Borbgrymus, Painful/Irreg. menses, Uterine bleed/prolapse, Leukorrhea, Sterility, Delayed labor, Noct. emiss/Impotence, Enuresis, Dysuria, Edema, Hernia, Pain-ext. genital, Musc. atrophy/impairment, Paralysis-lower limbs, Headache, Dizzy/Vertigo, Insomnia Crossing Point of the Three Foot Yin Channels Perpendicular .5 - 1 inch. Contraindicated in pregnancy. 3 cun directly above the tip of the medial malleolus, posteror to the medial border of the tibia.

SI-6 Blurring of vision, Pain in the shoulder*, elbow* & arm Xi Cleft of Hand Taiyang Perpendicular .3 - .5 inches Dorsal to the head of the ulna. When the palm faces the chest, the point is in the bony cleft on the radial side of the styloid process of the ulna.
SI-7 Neck rigidity, Headache, Dizziness*, Spasmodic pain the elbow & Fingers, Febrile diseases, Mania* Luo Connecting of Hand Taiyang Perpendicular .5 - .8 inch. On the line joining SI-5 & SI-8, 5 cun proximal to the dorsal crease of the wrist.
