| Name Box | Identifies the active cell by the letter of the column and the number of the row it intersects |
| Formula Bar | Displays the contents of the active cell and used to create or edit text or values |
| Active Cell | Highlighted with a thick border, it is the selected cell |
| Columns | Identified by letters running up and down the page |
| Rows | Identified by numbers running right and left |
| Worksheet Tabs | Identify the worksheets in a workbook |

| Placeholders | Boxes with dotted borders that are part of most slide layouts. These boxes are arranged on slides and hold a spot for us to type text or insert a picture. |
| Normal View | Used for creating and editing slides (what we normally see) |
| Slide Sorter View | Displays thumbnails of the slides. This view is used to view several slides at a time and to sort or rearrange slides |
| Slide Show View | Used to play the slide show. It fills the screen and shows the features and sounds applied to slides. |
