What is Industrial Relation? The relationship between employeers and employees.
Mention 3 causes of Industrial Dispute. -Claims for better pay and reward system by workers -The treat of redundancies. -Discrimination or Unfair dissimals.
What is an Industrial Dispute? A dispute between an employer and employee, also know as a trade dispute.
What is a trade union and two of their functions. Organisations that represents the interests of employees by speaking and negotiating on behalf of the employees. -Protect and promote the rights of workers fighting for better pay and work place. -Protect the job security of employees.
What does a shop steward do? This is an elected representative of the union members in a workplace. They negotiate on behalf of union members who are in dispute with their employer and collect union subscriptions.
What is the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and mention two functions. A body that speaks and acts for all unions in Republic of Ireland. -resolve disputes between smaller unions. -sanction all out strikes. -promote trade union membership.
