Formative Assessment 5 Co-teaching SPED 609

TermDefinition
Accommodation Changes that allow a person with a disability to participate fully in an activity. Examples: extended time for response and testing, different test format (modified tests), and alterations to a classroom (preferential seating).
Modification Individualized changes made to the content and performance expectations for students. Examples: quantity of a test or assignment shortened, assignment change (multiple choice instead of an essay).
Inclusion Placing students with disabilities in general education classrooms with appropriate support services. Student may receive instruction from both a general education teacher and a special education teacher.
Instructional Technology Teacher practice and processes of instructional design, media use, management, and evaluation processes of student learning.
Assistive Technology An item, piece of equipment, or product system, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability.
