Respiratory System

TermDefinition
Bronchus A passage of airway in the respiratory tract that conducts air into the lungs
Pulmonary alveoli The terminal ends of the respiratory tree and are sites of gas exchange
Respiration The set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in cells of organisms to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products
Glycolysis A metabolic pathway that takes place in the cytosol of cells in all living organisms
