Unit A vocab

TermDefinition
Word Processing Program A software program that includes tools for entering, editing, and formatting text and graphics.
Documents Electronic files you create using word.
Word Program Window Contains the word program elements.
Insertion Point Blinking vertical line that appears when you click in the formula bar, a document, a field or a placeholder indicates where new text will be inserted.
Screen Tip A label that appears when you position the mouse pointer over an object.
Title Bar Bar at the top of every program window that displays the document and program name.
Quick Access Toolbar A small toolbar on the left side of a Microsoft application program window’s title bar.
File Tab Provides access to backstage view and the word options dialog box.
Backstage View View available in all Microsoft office programs that allows you to perform many common task.
Ribbon In many Microsoft application program windows, a horizontal strip near the top of the window that contains tabs.
Tab A page in an application program’s ribbon, or in a dialog box.
Groups (n.) In a Microsoft program window’s ribbon.
Microsoft Word Help Button A button used to access the word help system.
Document Window Portion of a program window in which you create the document.
Horizontal Ruler A ruler that appears at the top of the document window in print layout, draft, and web layout view.
