| meniscus | the curve at a liquids surface by which one measures the volume of a liquid |
| mass | a measure of the amount of matter in an object |
| weight | a measure of the gravitational force exerted on an object |
| inertia | tendency of an object to resist being moved |
| density | amount of matter in a given space or volume |
| physical properties | can be observed or measured without changing the matter's identity |
| physical change | a reversible change in a substance physical appearance |
| chemical properties | can be observed or measured with changing the matter's identity |
| chemical change | irreversible change, creates a new substance |
| solubility | ability of a substance to dissolve into another substance |
| malleability | ability for something to be rolled/ pounded into thin sheet |
| conductivity | the rate at which a substance can transfer heat |
| reactivity | the ability for something to react to something else |
| flammability | the ability for something to burn |
