| Term | Definition |

| Tripod | a three legged stand for supporting a camera |
| Point and shoot | camera designed primarily for simple operation |
| Focus | An apparatus used to adjust the focal length of an optical system in order to make an image distinct or clear |
| Photo bomb | occurs when a third party interferes with a photo in a way that shifts the focus from the original subject(s) |
| Contrast | difference in brightness between the light and dark areas of a picture |
| Saturation | refers to how vivid and intense a color is |
| Fill light | used to reduce the contrast of a scene and provide some illumination for the areas of the image that are in shadow |
| Crop | refers to the removal of the outer parts of an image to improve framing, accentuate subject matter, or change aspect ration; to cut |
| Layer | the term used to describe the different levels at which you can place an object or image file |
| Clarity | quality of being clear |
