Acceptable Use Policy: The acceptable use policy is something you have to sign to say you will use the computer properly.
Active Window: An active window is a window currently in progress.
Boolean Logic: Boolean logic is the full system of logic operations.
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Citation: A passage that is cited.
Copyright: to use.A copyright is a picture that you own and someone has to ask permission
Desktop: The desktop has all your programsAnd it also has your background.
Domain (Internet):
Fair Use: Fair use is something you can post on a website saying that someone can use a picture or a document.
Favorites (bookmarks: favorites are favorite websites you can tab so you don’t have to type the web address in.
File: A file is somewhere you can store pictures, music, documents, and many other personal items.
Folder: A place where you can keep a certain topic of pictures, documents, and many other personal items.
Fraud: Fraud is a crime.
Hacker: A hacker is someone who uses your passwords to damage accounts or to find personal information.
Hard Disk
Hardware: The mechanical device on a computer.
Icon: An icon is a way to know one program from another.
Input: When you input you are putting new information on to your computer.
Intellectual Property: Intellectual property is something that you thought of .
Internet: The internet is a place where you can have a chat room, e-mail, research, and complete tasks in a short amount of time.
Log off: When you log off you are getting off your personal settings or something that belongs to you.
Log On: When you log on you are going on to personal settings.
Memory: Memory is something you use to remember things.
Menu: A menu shows you a list of programs you can access.
Monitor: A monitor is the screen you use to see what you are doing on the computer.
Mouse: The mouse is something you can use to click on something you want to select.
My Computer: Where you a see all of your floppy disk drives, CD Rom drives and more.
Network: If the network is down the computer will not work.
Operating System (OS)
Output: Output is information that a computer gives you.
Password: Something you can use to log on to a website that is a private thing.
Permission: Permission is when someone lets you do something.
Piracy: Piracy is downloading a song or watching a movie without paying for it.
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is if you took someone else’s work and copied it on to your work word by word.
Print Preview: This will show you how your picture or whatever you are printing will look like when it is done printing.
Printer: A machine you can use to print pictures or documents.
Program
Public Domain: Public domain describes material anyone can use.
Recycle Bin: A place where you can recycle old documents or programs you no longer need.
Right Click: The right click shows many different options.
Save As: When you save as you are saving something into a file.
Search Engine: A search engine is something you can use to research something.
Server: A device in a computer to make programs possible.
Shutdown: shutdown is when you turn your computer off.
Software: software is the place where all of your information on your computer.
Start Menu: Start menu shows a small amount of programs you have on your computer.
Terms of Use: Terms of use are explains a certain websites rules.
Trademark: Trademark is something like a picture or an idea that someone marked as theirs.
Uniform Resource Locator: Legal research.
Username: a username is something you can use to log on to a website or a personal desktop
Web Browser: A program you use to access documents.
