TermDefinition
Worksheet A table of data that is organized into rows and columns
Workbook Can be one worksheet or hundreds
Range A group of cells you can make changes to all the cells in the range
AutoFit A tool that changes the column to fit the longest entry or height to fit the font
Arithmatic Operator A symbol that represents a specific action such as a plus sign for addition
Formula A calculation that describes the relationship between cells
Function Something that tells Excel what to do
AutoSum Lets Excel know that you want to add the columns
Relative Addressing Refers to the change a formula makes when it is moved or copied to other cells with different data
Sort A way of arranging data in a particular order
Criteria The way rows are sorted
Ascending Sort A way to arrange data from first to last or lowest to highest
Descending Sort A way to arrange data from last to first or highest to lowest
Filter A filter lets you find a certain subject
Hiding A way to reduce the amount of information displayed
Chart A visual way to display or compare data
