Working with Charts and Graphics

TermDefinition
Chart A graphical representation of worksheet data.
Chart sheet A separate sheet in the workbook.
Data source The range of cells that contains the data you want to display in the chart.
Embedded chart A graphic object and is saved as part of the worksheet.
Gridlines Lines extending from the vertical or horizontal axes across the plot area of a chart.
Legend A list that identifies the patterns or colors of the data series or categories in a chart.
Screenshot A picture of a computer screen or part of a screen.
SmartArt graphic A predesigned diagram made up of shapes containing text that illustrates a concept or idea.
Sparklines Miniature charts that are embedded in the background of a single cell.
Title Descriptive name that identifies a chart or axis.
