| proofread | you check to make sure the document makes sense and there are no errors in spelling, grammar, or puncuation |
| cut | select and remove it |
| copy | duplicate so it appears exactly the same |
| paste | place in a new location |
| synonyms | words that have similar meanings |
| format | refers to the way text looks and the way it is arranged on a page |
| font | the shape of the letters, numbers and other characters |
| orientation | describes the direction of the page or the paper you will print on |
| alignment | describes whether the text is lined up on the left, right, center or across the page |
| bulleted lists | kind of list you will usually find in documents |
| numbered lists | kind of list you will usually find in documents |
| margin | the space around the sides, top, and bottom of the paper |
| default | a setting the computer automatically selects unless you change it |
| tab | a set distance for moving the insertion point |
| indent | determines the distance of a paragraph from either the left or right margin |
| quotation | is the exact words that someone else wrote or said |
| header | shows information at the top of each page |
