Computer is an electronic device that processes data.
personal compuer(PC) is used by one person at a time.
central processing unit(CPU) computers "brain"
bit is the smallest unit of information, always either 1 or a 2
byte the building block for all information that flows through a computer
hardware is the collection of physical devices that make up your computer systems
input is when a user enters information into a computer
output is when a computer delivers information back to a user
random access memory (RAM) temporary information that your computer uses only when you work with a particular file
read only memory (ROM) is permanent information on you computer
storage device such as a hard drive, a server, or a disk
software is a set of instructions that makes it possible for your computers to preform tasks
operating system (OS) software is the main program that makes your computer work
network is a group of computers connected together
drive is the largest storage area
folder is a place to save and organize files
file is a collection of data
save as lets you rename the file and at the same time
shortcut is an icon that is a direct link to a file or a folder
keyword is a word(or words) keyed into a search box that matches the topic you are looking for
content search look for information from a list of categories and topics
keyword search key one or more keywords.
