computer is an electronic device that processes data.
personal computer (PC) used by one person at a time
central processesing unit (cpu) which is like the computer's brain
bit smallest unit of information
byte the building block for all information that flows through a computer
hardware the collection of physical devices that make up your computer system.
input when a user enters information into a computer
output when a computer delivers infomation back to the computer.
random-access memory (ram) a computer stores in 3 different places.
read-only memory (rom) on a storage device
storage device a storage device is like a long term memory.
software a set of instructoiins that makes a
network a group of computers that are connected together.
drive is the largest storage area.
folder a place to save and organize files.
file is a collection of data
keywork is a word keyed into a search box that matches the topic you are looking for.
content search look for information
operation system is the main program that makes your computer work
save as this lets you rename a file and at the same time copying the file by saveig it to a new location
shortcut is an icon is a direct link to a file or a folder
keyword search key one or more keywords
