TermDefinition
Computer An electric device that processes data.
Personal Computer (PC) Is used by one person at a time.
Central Processing Unit Is a small chip that performs calculations an d carries out all the instructions you give to
Bit Is the smallest unit of information, always either a 1 or 0.
Byte The building block for all information that flows through a computer.
Hardware Is the collection of physical devices that make up your computer system.
Input Is when your user enters information into a computer.
Output Is when a computer delivers information back to a user.
Random-Access Memory (RAM) where a computer stores data.
Read-Only Memory (ROM) Storage device.
Storage Device when you save a file, you move the information from the RAM to storage device
Software Is a set of instuctions that makes it possible for
Operating system (OS) Is the main program that makes your computer work.
Network Is a group of computers connected together.
Drive Is a largest storage area.
Folder is a place to save and organize files,such as documents or pictures.
File Is a collection of data.
Save As you can duplicate , or copy, a file by using the save as command.
Shortcut is a icon that is a direct link to a file or folder.
Keyword is a word (or words) keyed into a search box that matches the topic you are looking for.
Content search Look got information from a list of categories and topics.
Keyword Search Key one or more words.
