| Ad hominem | Personal Attack. Label people. Discredited because of labels. |
| Ad populum | Popular Beliefs. Jump on bandwagon. Be part of the group |
| Common Practice | Popular Behavior. Action/ Bandwagon. Everyone else is doing it. |
| Red Herring | Distraction from the real issue |
| Straw Man | Easily knocked down. No merit. Exaggerated or distorted and then attacked. |
| Generalization | All, always, every, never, none. |
| False Analogy | Crazy comparison. Apples to oranges. |
| Post hoc | A caused B. |
| utilitarianism | the ethical doctrine that virtue is based on utility, and that conduct should be directed toward promoting the greatest happiness of the greatest number of persons. |
