Formatting and Editing Worksheets Vocabulary

TermDefinition
cell style A defined combination of formatting characteristics—such as number, alignment, font, border, and fill.
Clipboard An area of memory that temporarily stores up to 24 cut or copied selections.
conditional formatting A feature of Excel that enables you to apply specific formatting to cells that meet specific conditions.
copy Duplicates the contents so you can paste it into another cell or range without deleting it from its original location.
cut Removes the contents from a cell or range.
fill Background color or pattern.
font The design of a set of letters and numbers.
font styles Variations in the shape or weight of a font’s characters.
point size Refers to a measurement for the height of characters.
theme A set of predesigned formatting elements—including colors, fonts, and effects—that can be applied to an entire workbook.
