| intellectual property | art, books, stories, music, magazines, inventions, software, movies, reports created by you or others |
| netiquette | courtesy, honesty and polite behavior performed on the Internet |
| phishing | a con game used to collect personal information by a scammer on an unsuspecting person |
| piracy | theft of intellectual property |
| media literacy | ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in a variety of forms |
| upstander | someone who takes action to stand up to bullying behavior or other inappropriate behaviors |
| open source | programming code with limited or no copyright restrictions, allowing a person to legally modify and share the program |
| plagiarism | using some else's ideas or words as your own |
| flame | a mean message sent to others over the Internet |
