| Title Bar | The blue bar at the top of the window that contains the file and program |

| Standard Toolbar | works with files; examples are saving, printing, print preview, spellcheck, zoom window |
| Formatting Toolbar | edits data; examples are bold, center, left, right, font size, font, bullets, numbering, underlining |
| Ruler | allows measurements in 1/8 inch increments and allows us to set tabs and indents |
| Insertion Point | flashing vertical bar that tells us where the typing will begin |
| Scroll Bars | allows us to move left to right and top to bottom in our document; located at bottom and right side of the normal view window |
| Mouse Pointer | tells you where the mouse is presently at; displayed as an I-beam or white arrow |
| Status Bar | displays items such as what page, line, inch marker, column that you are on in your document |
| Task Bar | Tells what programs/documents that are open |
| ← or → | Move left or right one character |
| Ctrl + → or Ctrl + ← | Move one word right or left |
| ↑ or ↓ | Move up or down one line |
