Internet Gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
World Wide Web Only one part of the Internet.
Web Site Specific location on the Web that has related information.
Uniform Recourse Locater Address of a web site no other one can use.
Internet Service Provider Company that sells access to the Internet, usually a monthly fee.
Web Browser Software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with Web sites.
E-Mail Way of communicating through the Internet.
Netiquette Refers to the good manners one uses while on the Internet.
Spam Junk mail.
Firewall Hardware or software that protects your computer from viruses.
Home Page When you open your Internet browser, this is the first page you see.
Drill Down Find more specific information by clicking a link within another Web site.
Site Map Index of all the most recent visited sites on your computer.
Bookmark Shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to that Web site.
Favorites What bookmarks are called in Internet Explorer.
History Record of the most recent sites you have visited.
Print Preview Allows you to view a page before you print it to see how it will look.
Search Engine Special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using keywords.
Boolean Search This search uses keywords plus special symbols that make it easier to find specific info.
