internet service provider (ISP) a company that sells you access to the internet, usually for a monthly fee.it gives you your own username and password
web browser Software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with web sites
electronic mail (e-mail) a way that you can share info using the internet.
netiquette a food manners one uses in electronic communications
spam is like junk mail.it is sent in bulk to many people's e-mail accounts
firewall is a hardware or software that protects a computer or network form intruders
home page usually allows you to do one or more of the following.see info, use links, or search web pages
drill down you click a link that opens a new web page within the site
site map an index of all the main pages that let you jump straight to a page without drilling down
bookmark is a shortcut stored in tour browser that takes you directly to a page
favorits when you click the web page name in the favorites list the browser goes to that page immediately.
history you will view your browsers history and add useful sites to your favorites
print preview allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed
search engine is a special kind of web site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords
Boolean search this is a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact info you want by eliminating search results that are too general or broad
