Web Site Is a specific location on the Web that contains a related diles and resources by a person, group, or organization
Uniform Resource Locator (URL) a web sites specific address
Interent Service Provider (ISP) is a company that sells you access to the Internet, usullay for a monthly fee
Web browser is a software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with Web sites
Electronic mail (e-mail) is another way that you can share information using the Internet
Spam is like junk mail
Netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in elctronic communications
Firewall is hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders
Home Page the first page you see when your browser opens
Drill Down you click a link that opens a new Web page within the site
Site map and index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down
Bookmark is a shortcut stored in your browswer that takes you directly to a Web page
Favorites are bookmarks
History every page you have visited for the past few days or weeks
Print preview allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed
Search Engine is a special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using keywords
Boolean search a search that uses the keywords olus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad
