Internet Is a gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
World Wide Web is the only one part of the Internet. It is the only way of accessing the huge collection of information, services, and Websites available through the Internet.
Web site Is a specific location on the Web that contains a collection of related files and resources by a person, group, or orginazation.
Uniform Resource Locator(URL) If you know the unique, or distinctive, address or URL, you can go directly to a Web site.
Internet Service Provider(ISP) is a company that sells you acess to the internet, usually for a monthly fee.
Web Browser is a software program that lets you surf the web and interact wit web sites.
Electronic Mail (e-mail) is another way that you can share information using the Internet.
Netiquette refers the good manners one uses in electronic communications
Spam is like junk mail
firewall is hardware or software that protects a computer or networks from intruders.
home page is the "home" of where you keep your icons
drill down to find more specific information
site map a index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down
book mark is a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a Web site
favorites you can easily add a Web site to your favorite by clicking add to favorites button
history a record of all you r web history
print preveiw lets you look at the page so you will know how it looks when printed.
search engine a special kind of website that lets you look for other websites using key words
boolean search this is a search that uses keywords plus special sybols to find the exact information you want by elininationg seatvg results that are too general or too broad
