| Internet Service Provider (ISP) | A company that sells you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee. |
| Web Browser | Software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with Web sites. |
| Electronic Mail (E-Mail) | Another way that you can share information using the Internet. (Communication Device) |
| Netiquette | The good manners one uses in electronic communications. |
| Spam | Junk mail. |
| Firewall | Hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders. |
| Home Page | The first Web page you see when you open your browser. |
| Drill Down | A way to find more specific information by clicking on a link that opens a new Web page within the site. |
| Site Map | Index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down. |
| Bookmark | Shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a Web page. |
| Favorites | What bookmarks are called in Internet Explorer. |
| History | A list of previous Web sites you have visited within the past few days or weeks. |
| Print Preview | Allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed. |
| Search Engine | Special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using key words. |
| Boolean Search | A type of search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad. |
