TermDefinition
Distinguishing Characteristics of poetry Unlike prose which has a narrator, poetry has a speaker. A speaker or voice, talks to the reader. Poetry is also formatted differently from prose.
Line A line is a word or rows of words that may or that not from a complete sentence.
Stanza Is a group of lines that forms a unit. Stanzas in a poem are always separated by one space.
Figures of Speech It is a word or expression that is not meant to be read literally
