Distinguishing Characteristics of poetry | Unlike prose which has a narrator, poetry has a speaker. A speaker or voice, talks to the reader. Poetry is also formatted differently from prose. |
Line | A line is a word or rows of words that may or that not from a complete sentence. |
Stanza | Is a group of lines that forms a unit. Stanzas in a poem are always separated by one space. |
Figures of Speech | It is a word or expression that is not meant to be read literally |
