Internet The internet is a gigantic computer metwork that connects computers across the world.
World Wide Web World Wide Web A way of accessing the huge collection of information,services,amd Web sites available through the internet.
Web Site A specific location on the Web that contains a collectoin of related files and resources by a person,group,or orgaization.
Uniform Resoures Locater (URL) the uniqe or distinctive,address or URL,you can go directlu to a Web site.
Internet Service Provider (ISP) A company that sells you access to the internet,usually for a monthly fee.
Web Browser A software program that lets you surf the web and internet with web sites.
Electronic Mail (e-mail) Another way that you can sgare information using the innternet.
Netiquette Refers to the good manners one uses in electronic commuications.
Spam It is like junk mail it is sent in bulk to many peoples e-mail accounts.
Firewall A hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
Home Page The home page is for your browser usally allows you to do one or more of the following.
Drill Down To find more specific information.
Site Map An index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down.
Bookmark Is a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a web page
Favorites Add a web site to your favorite list
History the record of web sites you go to
Print Preview Allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed.
Search Engine Is a special kind of web site that lets you search for other.
Boolean Search This a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating.
