| Uniform resource locator (URL) | a web site that has its own address that no other site can use. |
| Internet service provider (USP) | A company that sells you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee. |
| Web browser | A software program that that lets you surf the web and interact with web sites. |
| Electronic mail(e-mail) | Another way that you can share information using the Internet. |
| Netiquette | Refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications. |
| Spam | Junk mail |
| Firewall | hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders. |
| Home page | Your browser usually allows you to use links to other useful sites on the Web. |
