Internet Is a gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
World Wide Web Is the only one part of the internet.
Web Site Is a specific location on the Web that contains a collection of related files by a person, group, or organization.
Uniform Resource Locator (URL) With this you can go directly to a web site.
Internet Services Provider (ISP) Is a company that sells you access to the internet, usually, for a monthly fee.
Web Browser Is a software program that lets you surf the web and interact with Web sites.
Electronic mail (E-Mail) Another way that you can share information using the internet.
Netiquette Refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications.
Spam Is like junk mail
Firewall Is a hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
Home page the first browser you see when your browser opens
Drill down to find more specific information
site map an index of all main pages that you may use to jump straight to a page.
Bookmark Is a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a page
favorites In the internet explorer browser, bookmarks are called favorites.
history Your browser keeps track of every page you have visited for the past few days or even weeks.
Print preview Allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it's printed.
search engine is a special type of web site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords
Boolean search This is a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad.
