World Wide Web it is a way of accessing the huge collections of information, services, and Web sites available through the Internet.
Web site a specific location on the Web the contains a collection of related files and resources by a person, group, or organization.
Uniform Resource Locator (URL) an address the no other site can use.
Internet service provider (ISP) a company that sells you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee.
Web Browser a software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with web sites.
Electronic mail (e-mail) another way that you can share information using the internet
Netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications
Spam is like a junk mail
Firewall a hardware or software the protects a computer or network from intruders
Home page the first web page you see when your browser opens
Drill Down click a link that opens a new web page within the site
Site map an index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down
Bookmark a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a Web page
Favorites bookmarks
History the browser keeps track of every page you have visited for the past few days
Print Preview allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed
Search Engine a special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using keywords
Boolean search a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad
