surplus An amount greater than what is needed.
civilizations A word used to describe A culture that has developed complex systems of government, education, and religion. Usually large populations in cities.
specialize You specialize in something when you spend most of your time doing a specific job.
palaces A rulers official residence.
villages A group of houses that make up a community that is smaller than a town or city.
gods An image that is worshiped, sometimes in the form of an idol.
maize The corn plant or it's kernels.
calendar A chart that shows months, weeks, and days in a year.
pyramids A huge stone structure in the shape of a pyramid but especially in ancient Egypt as a tomb.
