hard tissue injuries

TermDefinition
closed fractures clean break with no rupture of the skin
open fractures clean break with rupturing of the skin
complicated/compound fracture fragmented fracture of the bone usually resulting in a small crack usually resulting in multiple "floating" pieces
spiral fracture usually from a direct knock , resulting in a small crack towards the centre of the bone
greenstick fracture a fracture of the bone, occurring typically in children, in which one side of the bone is broken and the other only bent.
dislocation a bone or many bones are nocked out of position. NEVER ATTEMPT TO PUT THEM BACK IN YOURSELF!
