| 1. Crop | To cut off the sides of an image to make it the proper size or to remove unwanted parts of an image. |
| 2. Fill | To paint the inside of an enclosed object. |
| 3. Free Rotate | Allows you to rotate a graphic to any angle. |
| 4. Gray Scale | Represents colors with different shades of gray for use with a non-color printer. |
| 5. Grouping | Allows you to work with several objects as though they were one object |
| 6. Handles | Little squares at the edges and corners of a selected graphic on your screen. |
| 7. Pixel | A collection or series of dots making up an image or the display on a monitor (the more pixels the better the picture). |
| 8. Resolution | Refers to the sharpness and clarity of an image; it is measured in dpi (dots per inch). |
| 9. Scaling | Re-sizing images to fit your layout. |
| 10. Thumbnail | A miniature version of a picture or page layout. |
| 11. Toolbox | A collection of drawing and painting tools included in a graphics software package. |
| 12. Vector | An image is stored as lines rather than a series of dots or pixels. |
