Vocabulary

TermDefinition
1. Crop To cut off the sides of an image to make it the proper size or to remove unwanted parts of an image.
2. Fill To paint the inside of an enclosed object.
3. Free Rotate Allows you to rotate a graphic to any angle.
4. Gray Scale Represents colors with different shades of gray for use with a non-color printer.
5. Grouping Allows you to work with several objects as though they were one object
6. Handles Little squares at the edges and corners of a selected graphic on your screen.
7. Pixel A collection or series of dots making up an image or the display on a monitor (the more pixels the better the picture).
8. Resolution Refers to the sharpness and clarity of an image; it is measured in dpi (dots per inch).
9. Scaling Re-sizing images to fit your layout.
10. Thumbnail A miniature version of a picture or page layout.
11. Toolbox A collection of drawing and painting tools included in a graphics software package.
12. Vector An image is stored as lines rather than a series of dots or pixels.
