name literary devices

What are literary devices? Literary devices are used to enhance a literary piece. Eg. Simile
What is a simile? A simile compares two things using as or like. Eg. The woman's hair was a red as a cock's comb.
How is a metaphor different from a simile? A metaphor does not compare, it gives the impression that one thing is the other. eg. Time is a bird.
What is Personification? Personification is giving human characteristics to inanimate things. eg. The canefield shimmers and sways in the midday breeze.
