| format | the way text looks and the way it is arranged on a page |

| orientation | descibes the direction of the page or the paper you will print on |
| alignment | describes whether the text is lined up on the left, right, center, or across the page |
| bulleted list | inserts dots called bullets before each item; can use other characters, such as diamonds; presents information in no particular order |
| numbered list | inserts a number before each item; automatically uses consecutive numbers; lists infomation in specific order |
