TermDefinition
word processing software that is used to create and edit text documents.
edit to change or rewrite your document to improve it.
proofread to cheak to make sure the documents make sense and there are no errors.
cut to select and remove it.
copy to duplicate tect in a document so that it appears exactly the same in another part of a document.
paste place something you copied into a new location.
synonym words that have similar meanings.
format refers to the way text looks and the way it is arranged on a page.
font is the shape of the letters nubers and other characters.
orientation describes the direction of the page or the paper you will print on.
alignment describes whether the text is lined up on the left right center or across the page.
bulleted list inserts bullets before each item and presents information in no paticular order.
numbered list inserts number before each item and lists information in an order, such as steps.
margin the space around the sides top and bottom of the paper.
default a setting that the computer automatically selects unless you change it.
tab a set destance for moving the insertion point.
indent determines the distance of a paragraph from either the left or right margin.
quotation the exact words that someone eles wrote or said.
header shows information at the top of each page.
footer shows information at the bottom of each page.
citation detailed information about each source.
title page a separate page at the beginning of your report or research paper.
desktop publishing allows you to use text graphics photographs and other features to create documents, MS office word.
wordart a feature in MS word that allows you to create your newsletter's masthead.
table a grid of rows and columns that organizes complex information so that it is easy to find and understand.
column the information that is arranged vertically in the table.
row the information that is arranged horizontally in the table.
cell where a column and row cross.
