What are emoticons? Expressions you create to show how you feel in the conversation. Example: :-)
What is spamming? Repeating a phrase over and over when it is not relevant to the conversation or blog. Example: BUY A BRAND NEW PHONE! BUY A BRAND NEW PHONE! BUY A BRAND NEW PHONE!
What is a URL? Uniform Resource Locator is what it stands for and it is the link of the website that you are on. Example: https://www.edmodo.com/home
What is a search engine? A search engine is a type of software tool that creates indexes of Internet sites based on the titles of files, keywords, or the full text of files. Example: www.google.com
What is a blog? A blog is a a personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis. Example: http://bloggingwithamy.com/
What is social networking? the use of dedicated websites and applications to communicate informally with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself. Example: www.tumblr.com
What is a home page? A home page is the introductory page of a website, typically serving as a table of contents for the site. Example: https://www.google.com/
What is Google Apps used for? Google Apps is a service from Google providing independently customizable versions of several Google products under a custom domain name.
What is the World Wide Web? The world wide web is an information system on the Internet that allows documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links, enabling the user to search for information by moving from one document to another.
What is bandwidth? the range of frequencies within a given band, in particular that used for transmitting a signal.
What is a net address? The network address is the first address in a range of IP addresses and is used to communicate with all network devices on a particular network.
What is podcast? Podcast is a multimedia digital file made available on the Internet for downloading to a portable media player, computer, etc. Example: http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/
What is hypertext? Hypertext is a software system that links topics on the screen to related information and graphics, which are typically accessed by a point-and-click method.
What is a cookie? A cookie is a message, or segment of data, containing information about a user, sent by a Web server to a browser and sent back to the server each time the browser requests a Web page.
What is domain name? The domain name is the part of a network address that identifies it as belonging to a particular domain.
What is credibility? Credibility is the quality of being trusted and believed in.
What is a browser? A browser is a program with a graphical user interface for displaying HTML files, used to navigate the World Wide Web. Example: Internet Explorer
What is http://? Http:// is a hypertext directory or document (such as a Web page).
What is a client? A client is a desktop computer or workstation that is capable of obtaining information and applications from a server.
What is HTML? HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, a standardized system for tagging text files to achieve font, color, graphic, and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages.
What is a hotlist? A hotlist is a personal list of favorite or most frequently accessed websites compiled by an Internet user.
What is an IP Address? An IP address is a unique string of numbers separated by periods that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network.
