| Term | Definition |

| Click | To press the mouse once |
| Maximize | To enlarge a window to the full size of the screen |
| Fonts | The design for a set of characters |
| Graphics | Pictures on the computer |
| Cursor | Arrow or blinking line that tells you where you are working |
| Icon | A small picture or symbol that represents a program or file |
| Close | To exit a program or file and close the window--(X) key in upper right corner |
| Cut | To remove text or graphics and be able to paste it in another place |
| Key | A button on the keyboard of a computer |
| Scroll bar | A bar that appears on the side or the bottom of a window to control which part of the document is currently in the window's frame |
| Character | Any number, letter, symbol, or space created by the keyboard |
| URL | The address of a world wide web page |
| Backspace | A key on the keyboard that erases the information before the cursor |
| Network | A group of computers and other devices linked together for a specific purpose |
| Copy | To create a copy of text or graphics, and be able to paste it in another place while keeping the original |
| Back Button | The arrow at the top of the web browser that allows you to go back to the previous page you were on |
