internet is a gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
world side web is only one part of the internet.
uniform resource locator if you know the unique, or distinctive, address or url, you can go directly to a web site
internet service provider is a company that sells you access to the internet, usually for a monthly fee.
web browser is a software program that lets yu surf the web browsers to choose from.
electronic mail is another way that you can share information usin the internet.
netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications.
spam is like junk mail
firewall is hardware of software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
home page the home page for your browser usually allows you to find one or more of the following things use links to other useful sites on the web
drill down to find more specific information.
site map an index of all the main pages in the site that you may use jump straight to a page without drilling down the author or creator of the site
bookmark is a shortcut stored in you browset that takes you directly to web page.
favorites you can easily add a web site to you favorites list.
history this record is called history of you web site visits.
print preview allows you to wiew a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed.
search engine is a special kind of web site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords.
boolean search this is a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to fid the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad.
resource locter if you know the unique, or distinctive, address or url, you can go directly to web site
