World wide web The huge collection of information, services, and Web sites accessible through the Internet.
Internet Is a gigantitic computer network that connects computers across the world.
Web site A specific locationon the web that contains a group of related files and resources.
Uniform resource locator URL you can go directly to the web site.
Internet service provider An ISP gives you access to the Internet, usally for a monthly fee.
Web browser Is a software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with web sites.
Electronic mail (e-mail) Is another way that you can share information using the Internet.
Netiqutte Refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications.
Spam It is like junk mail.
Home page The first web page an internet browser is set to access when opened.
Drill down To find more specific information.
Site map An index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down
Bookmark Is a shortcut that is stored in your browser that takes you direcly to a web page
Favorites Is the internet exploer browser bookmarks are called.
History Of yourwebsites vists.
Print preview Allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed
Firewall Is hardware of software that protects a cumputer or network from in
Search egine Is a special kind of site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords.
Boolean search A search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find modre exact results.
