| Uniform Resource Locator {URL} | A Web site that has its own address that no other site can use. |
| Internet Service Provider {ISP} | A company that sells you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee. |
| Web Browser | A software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with Web sites. |
| Electronic Mail {e-mail} | Another way that you can share information using the Internet. |
| Netiquette | refers to the goof manners one uses in electronice |
| Spam | Junk mail |
| Firewall | A software or hardware that protects a computer or network from intruders |
| Home Page | The first web page you see when your browser opens |
| Dril Down | Clicking on a link that opens a new Web page within the site |
| Site Map | An index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump start to a page without drilling down |
| Bookmark | A shortcut stored in your browser goes to that page immediately |
| Favorites | In the Internet Browser, bookmarks are called Favorites |
| History | A record that you computer keep as you search your browser. |
| Print Preview | Allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed |
| Search Engine | A special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using keywords. |
| Boolean Search | A search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you wnat by eliminating search results that too general or too broad. |
