internet a gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
world wide web the web is only one part of the internet.
web site a specific location on the web that contains a collection of related files and resouces a person, group, or organization.
uniform resource locator web site address.
internet resource provider a company that sells you access to the intenet.
web browser a software program that lets you surf the web and interact with web sites.
electronic mail another way that you can share information using the intenet.
netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communations.
spam like junk mail.
firewall is hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
home page the first web page you see then your browser opens.
drill down to find more specific information.
site map an index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling.
bookmark a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you diretcly navigae to the page or write down the specific url.
favorites bookmarks an intetnet brsowser.
history your web site views.
print preview allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed.
search engine a special kind of web site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords.
boolean search this is a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad.
