internet is a giganice computer network that connects computers across the world.
Home page The home page for your browser usually allows you to do one or more of the following:
world wide web The huge collection of information,services,and Web sites accessible through the internet
Web site is a specific lcation on the web that conains a collection of related files and resources by a person,group,or organization.
uniform resource locator (URL) A web site's own unique internet address no other web site can use
internet service provider is a company that sells you access to the internet usually for a monthly fee.
drill down to find more specific information.
site map an index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump staight to a page without drilling down
bookmark is a shortcut stored in your your browesr that takes you directly to a web page.
favrites you can easily add a web site to your favorites list.
history of your web site visits.
print preview a function that allows you view a page to see how it will look when it is printed.
web browesr is a software program that lets you surf the web and interact with web sites.
electronic mail is another way that you can share information using the internet.
netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications.
spam is like junk mail.
firewall is hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders
search engine is a special kind of web site that lets you search for other web pages using keywords.
Boolean search this is search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find the exact information you want by eliminating search results that are too general or too broad
