Internet A gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
World Wide Web It is a collection of information,services,and Web sites available through the internet.
Web Site A Web site is a specific location on the Web that contains a collection of related files and resources by a person,group,or organizations.
Uniform Resource Locator It is a Web site that has its own address that no other site can use.
Internet Service Provider It is a company that sells you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee.
Web Browser A Web Browser is a software program that lets you surf the Web and interact with Web sites.
E-mail It is another way that you can share information using the Internet.
Netiquette It refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communications.
Spam It is junk mail.
Firewall It is a hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
Modem A Modem is a device that lets your computer send data to and recieve data from other computers or to a network.
Home Page It is the first thing you see when you open the Web Browser.
Drill Down It is a link that takes you to a more specific information.
Site Map It is an index of all the main pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down.
Bookmark It is a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a Web page.
Favorites In the Internet Explorer browser bookmarks are called Favorites.
History It is the record of all your Web site visits.
Print Preview It allows you to view a page so you can see how it will look when it is printed.
Search Engine It is a special kind of Web site that lets you search for other Web pages using keywords.
