Internet Gigantic computer network that connects computers across the world.
World wide web The huge collection of information, services, and Web sites accessible through the Internet.
Web site specific location on the Web thaty contains a collection of related files and resources by a person, group, or organization.
uniform resource locator (url) a Web sites own unique internet addres that no other Web site can use.
internet service provider (isp) a company that sells you access to the internet, usually for a monthly fee.
web browser a software program that lets you surf the web and interact with web sites.
electronic mail (e-mail) another way that you can share information using the internet.
netiquette the rules or manners used in electronic communication.
spam junk mail
fire wall hard ware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders.
home page the first web page an internet browser is set to access when opened.
drill down to move from general information to more detailed information by exploring a series of folders, drop-down menus, or web pages.
site map an idex of all the main pages in the site you may use this to to jump straight to a page without drilling down.
book mark a short cut that takes you directly to a web page
favorites internet explorers term for web site bookmarks
history all the websites you have visited.
print preview allows you to view a page before it is printed.
search egine allows you to search for other web pages using keywords.
boolean search uses key words plus special symbols to find the exact.
