Internet is a gignantic computer network that conncts computers across the world.
world wide web the huge collection of information services and web sites acessible through the internet.
web site is a spicific location on the web that contains a colllection of related files and resources by a person, group, or organization.
uniform resource locator A web sittes own unique internet address that no other web site can use
internet service provider is a company thaet sells you acess to the internet usually for a monthly fee.
web browser Is a software program that lets you surf the web and interact with web sites.
electronic mail is another way to act that you can share information using the internet.
netiquette refers to the good manners one uses in electronic communicatoin
spam is like a junk mail.
firewall is hardware or software that protects a computer or network from intruders
home page the first web page an internet browser is set ascess when open
drill down to find more specific infromation
site map an index of all the mail pages in the site that you may use to jump straight to a page without drilling down .
bookmark is a shortcut stored in your browser that takes you directly to a web page or write down the specific URl.
favorites internet Explorer's term for web site bookmarks
history a record kept by a browser of every web page visited in the past few days or weeks.
print preview a browser functions used to see how a document or web page is going to appear on the paper
search engine A web site used to seek out other web pages using keywords
Boolean search a search that uses keywords plus special symbols to find more exact results
