| 1. Input Devices | How data such as text, images, or sounds is sent to the processor. |
| 2. Output Devices | How processed data is seen and/or heard. |
| 3. Central Processing Unit | CPU: A chip inside the computer that receives data from input devices and changes it into text, pictures, or sounds. |
| 4. Random Access Memory | RAM does not store data while the computer is off. It is memory that can be read and written to. Computers need a lot of RAM to run efficiently. |
| 5. Read-Only Memory | ROM: ROM contains the instructions that start the computer when it is turned on. It’s memory is read only and not written to. |
