TermDefinition
Classified Advertising Often called want ads, consists of advertising messages groups together in one part of the newspaper under headings such as Help Wanted.
Business Opportunity Advertisements These usually describe the enterprise to be sold, the location, and sometimes the selling price.
Business Services Advertisements In these ads, it is the service that is for sale, not the enterprise providing the service.
Special-Interest Magazines Articles and advertisements in specific areas of interest appear in these.
Trade Publications Magazines and newspapers designed people working within a particular business or field.
Hobbies Activities you pursue for pleasure and relaxation.
Public Shows Places where manufacturers and distributors display and demonstrate their products to the public.
Trade Shows Exhibits of products from many suppliers organized by groups of manufacturers or wholesalers.
Craft and Hobby Shows Places where people show others what they make or study in their spare time.
Survey Involves asking a number of people a series of questions and then summarizing their answers.
Informal Survey You can conduct one of these by talking to your family and friends.
Formal Survey Involves either interviewing many people or asking them to complete a questionnaire.
Brainstorming A technique used to solve a problem by generating as many ideas as possible.
